Triyuga Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd. was established with the objective of playing a leading role in promoting and integrating tea farming by prohibiting chemical fertilizers, commercializing tea farming, processing the produced tea, and providing appropriate training and advanced materials to tea farmers.

The cooperative primarily operates in Deumai Municipality-3  in Ilam district, bringing together tea farmers in groups.

As part of the initiative to develop this region as an organic tea farming area, the cooperative currently has 47 farmer members. Following the principles and fundamental values of cooperatives, the organization mainly encourages its members in tea production, collects and purchases green tea leaves from tea farmers. produces and markets necessary fertilizers, processes tea, and provides high-quality financial and non-financial services to improve the living standards of its members. Inspired by this goal, 31 members came together to formally register Triyuga Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd. at the Division Cooperative Office in Ilam on 2058/04/24 B.S. (corresponding to 2001 A.D.).

The cooperative currently has 47 shareholding members, comprising 42 male and 5 female members.

Mission

The cooperative aims to enable its members to produce, process, and market organic green tea leaves at competitive prices. Additionally, it focuses on fertilizer production, savings/loans, and other financial services. The cooperative is committed to enhancing the skills and capacity of its members, creating self-employment opportunities, and developing itself as a long-term sustainable institution.

Objectives

The cooperative is committed to adhering to prevailing laws and regulations within its working area while ensuring the economic, social, and cultural advancement of both the institution and its members.

    • Encouraging farmers within its working area to engage in tea farming.
    • Utilizing unused land to address unemployment issues.
    • Improving the quality of tea through advanced market management and technology.
    • Motivating members to work collectively to fulfill their needs while fostering mutual cooperation, frugality, and a habit of saving.
    • Supporting the processing, market management, supply, and export of tea to meet growing demand.
    • Encouraging members to work in accordance with the principles and spirit of cooperatives.
    • Arranging technical training related to tea farming for member farmers.
    • Supporting government and non-governmental programs.
