Many tea cooperatives in Nepal are practicing organic farming, which means growing tea without using harmful chemicals or pesticides. This helps protect the environment, soil, and health of farmers and consumers.

To sell tea as organic, cooperatives must get organic certification from authorized organizations. This certification proves that the tea is grown naturally and meets certain standards. Getting certified can be difficult and costly, but it helps farmers get better prices and access to international markets.

Tea cooperatives in Nepal work together to support their members in organic farming, training, and getting certification, which improves the quality of tea and benefits both farmers and the environment.

There are more than 2 processing cooperative tea factory and more than 10 tea cooperatives that are organic certified.

Organic farming is an agricultural practice that focuses on growing crops and raising livestock in a way that works with natural systems, avoids synthetic chemicals, and promotes ecological balance. It emphasizes sustainability, soil health, biodiversity. Most of the member cooperative of CTCF Nepal is producing organic tea by default. 2 cooperative processing factories have organic certification and other 6 cooperative have organic certification of their tea garden as the raw material supplier.
