Introduction

Namsami Tea and Coffee Producer Cooperative Society, located in Phalgunanda-4, Panchthar, was established on 7th Ashoj 2072 B.S. (corresponding to 2015 A.D.). Registered under number 03/837/2072/2073, the cooperative consists of 25 members, including 24 men and 1 woman.

Dedicated to promoting tea and coffee farming, the cooperative actively works to enhance the livelihoods of its members and strengthen local agricultural practices. It is affiliated with the Central Tea Cooperative Federation (CTCF) Ltd. Nepal and the District Tea Cooperative Federation (DTCF) Panchthar, ensuring broader representation and support within the cooperative network.

Vision:

To ensure the economic, social, educational, and cultural advancement of the organization and its members by adhering to the prevailing laws and regulations within the organization's working area.

Mission:

The cooperative aims to provide its members with competitive prices for organic green tea leaves, cash crops, and ensuring processing, marketing, organic fertilizer production, and financial services such as savings and loans.

Additionally, it focuses on skill and capacity building, establishing small-scale industries, and creating self-employment opportunities. The cooperative envisions evolving into a sustainable institution.

Objectives:

  • Encourage tea and coffee cultivation
  • Address the problem of unemployment in rural areas
  • Process and market the produced tea and coffee
  • Conserve the environment and contribute to maintaining a clean atmosphere

Activities

  • Provide organic fertilizers and pesticides to members and sell daily necessities at fair prices through a cooperative shop to reduce financial burdens.
  • Organize exposure visits for farmers to locations practicing organic farming and promote organic agriculture.
  • Arrange domestic market distribution for processed organic green tea.
  • Work towards banning the distribution of harmful pesticides.
  • Offer all necessary technical support to farmers.
  • Improve the economic, social, and educational conditions of members by increasing income sources and employment opportunities.
  • Offer competitive interest rates on deposits collected from members.
  • Provide loans at specified interest rates for productive, income-generating, and skill-based activities.
  • Maintain direct contact with service providers and relevant organizations to facilitate necessary services for members.
  • Cooperate with local, regional, national, and international organizations with similar objectives.
