Background of Collaboration
ETHIQUABLE is a cooperative enterprise started in October 2003. Its cooperative status (SCOP: Société Cooperative de Production) is based on democratic and human values. The society capital is held by the employees, who share on an equal basis the decision power and profits.
Beside commercialization of fair-trade products, Ethiquable purpose is to develop partnerships with farmers groups and structure long term fair trade supply chains, allowing producers to access western markets in good conditions. Ethiquable also seeks to fulfill consumers demand on more knowledge on the origin of the products they consume, how they were produced, especially regarding economic and social rights of the people who produced it and the respect of the environment.
In 2021, the cooperative count 140 employees and has become a major actor of fair trade in France. Its product range includes over 250 products, including coffee, tea, chocolate, fruits juices, jams, cereals, spices. Ethiquable works with 90 producer’s organizations in 30 countries. Those organizations regroup small producers, with a development goal for their members and community, which goes beyond the sale of their products. With its partners, Ethiquable regularly assesses mutual commitments and measures on field the results of the fair trade approach and its own practices.
Central Tea Cooperative Federation Limited Nepal (CTCF) is established in the year 2010 A.D., under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperative Department to address farmer’s needs through tea cooperatives. CTCF is a member-based apex organization of tea farmer’s cooperatives and their District Federations, having vision of Sustainable Tea Cooperatives, Prosperous Farmers. CTCF aims to assist member cooperative and federation for the economic, social, and cultural development abiding Nepalese prevailing laws, rules within working jurisdiction of federation. Currently CTCF has 101 tea cooperatives as member from Ilam, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Therathum, Jhapa, Udayapur, Bhojpur, Lalitpur, Sankhuwasabha, Taplejung, Ramechhap and Solukhumbu districts including 5 districts cooperative federations. More than 7500 family households are associated through their cooperatives.
CTCF has conducting various programs for the development of tea sector and cooperative with the cooperation and support from NGOs/INGOs, cooperatives and governments of Nepal. CTCF has supporting to tea cooperatives and farmers for capacity strengthing, quality production, organic certification, fairtrade certification, improvement of OSH, access to finance, access to market and export teas, etc. CTCF has lobbying with the governments and other organizations for favouriable policies and programs for small holders family farmers and tea cooperatives.
Purpose of Collaboration
The purpose of this partnership agreement is to establish bases for a medium-term relationship (3 years) between the partners, to work on a fair trade supply chain. The contract agreement is based on mutual trust and fairness. This partnership allows to precise mutual commitments regarding fair trade.

- Promote Cooperative to Cooperative (C2C) business.
