News : Assistant tea technician training started at Hile Dhankuta

Assistant tea technician training have been started from 27 April 2021 at Pakhribas Dhankuta by Central Tea Cooperative Federation Ltd Nepal and its project implementation partner F-SKILL Pvt. Ltd. under the 15 months project entitled Skill Development for Quality Tea Production with the support of Dakchyata TVET Practical Partnership, funded by European Union and Managed by British Council. The training is based on the 430 hours curriculum developed by the council of technical education and vocational training (CTEVT).  The training has been started with the presence of local government, local tea stakeholders for the first time in Dhankuta. CTCF Nepal already provided 5 trainings in Ilam district in first phase and in process of skill testing by the National Skill Testing Board (NSTB). Along with Pakhribas, the trainings started same time at Mahakal Lalitpur, Mudhe Sankhuwasabha, Solma terathum and Haldibari Jhapa as the second phase training program.

The mayor of Pakhribas Municipality Mr Birkha Bahadur Rai inaugurated the training program. During the inauguration program, chief of national vocational agriculture research center Mr. Himal Prasad Timsina, Tea Technician of NTCDB Mr Nabin Koirala, and chairperson of local tea cooperative provided the greeting speech for the successful completion of the training.  Mr. Indra Bahadur Saru Magar chaired the formal inauguration program.  He during the inauguration he said CTCF Nepal conducting the assistant tea technician training to fulfill the gap of technical human resource in tea sectors. He also mentions that the federation has already initiated for the development of second level of curriculum with the CTEVT and local government.

The training will run for 430 hours within three months and will provide additional training on life skill knowledge, entrepreneurship and enterprise development training, occupational health and safety. After the completion the training, the training graduates will be provided internationally recognized skill certificate after the skill testing by the national skill testing board of Nepal.
