Tajenglung Tea Production And Processing Cooperative (Ltd.), based in Phidim-9, Panchthar, was officially registered on 2058/12/12 B.S. with Registration No. 104/058/59 under the Division Cooperative Office, Ilam. It operates under PAN Number 303943932. The cooperative started with 25 institutional members, including 21 males and 4 females, and has since grown to 107 members, with 84 males and 23 females. The racial composition of the membership includes 1 Dalit, 97 Janjati, and 9 from other groups. The cooperative’s geographical reach extends across Imbung, Siwa, Chokmagu, Phidim, and Ranitar VDCs. The tea plantation area consists of 55 ropani owned by the cooperative and an additional 457 ropani owned by members, totaling 512 ropani (25.6 hectares). Financially, the cooperative has accumulated total savings of Rs. 1,49,800. The rate of interest on savings is 12%, while the loan interest rate stands at 18%, giving a margin of 6%. The cooperative has a total of 3,626 shares.

Vision:

  • The base of the Tajenglung Tea Cooperative lies in physical infrastructure development, the expansion of organic tea cultivation, and advancements in processing and marketing.

Mission :

  • In addition to the production, processing, and marketing of organic green tea at competitive prices, as well as fertilizer production, savings and loans, and other business services, the cooperative will create an environment for self-employment by enhancing the skills and abilities of its members, and will develop into a long-term organization.

Goal :

  • To promote the economic, social, and cultural development of the organization and its members by adhering to the prevailing laws and regulations of the Government of Nepal within the scope of the organization.

Objectives :

  • To encourage the tea farmers within the scope of this organization to cultivate organic tea.
  • The organization will buy and cultivate tea-cultivable and cultivated lands for shares.
  • Striving to solve the problem of unemployment in rural areas.
  • Encouraging members to grow tea by providing necessary services in tea processing, market arrangement, and quality improvement through advanced technology in the organization’s private and collective efforts.
