Makalu Tea Producer and Processing Cooperative Society was officially registered on 2070/1/12 with the registration number 47/2069/70 at the Division Cooperative Office in Dhankuta. The cooperative is actively engaged in the production and processing of tea, aiming to support and uplift local tea farmers in the Panchkhapan Municipality of Sankhuwasabha district.

It is affiliated with the District Tea Cooperative Federation, Dhankuta, as well as the Central Tea Cooperative Federation (CTCF) Nepal, which enables it to connect with broader networks, receive technical and institutional support, and advocate for the rights and interests of tea farmers at the district and national levels.

By organizing local tea growers, the cooperative promotes sustainable tea farming practices, strengthens the local economy, and enhances members' livelihoods through collective marketing, processing, and capacity-building efforts.
