Green Hill Tea Producer Cooperative Society
The Greenhill Tea Producers Cooperative was inspired by the purpose of creating a group that includes tea farmers in the area, banning chemical fertilizers, commercializing tea cultivation, processing the produced tea, providing proper training to tea farmers, supplying advanced materials, and playing a leading role in promoting and unifying tea cultivation. The number of farmers in the cooperative has reached 125. This cooperative is situated in Ilam Municipality-1, Nepaltar.
Embracing the principles of cooperatives and its basic values and beliefs, the cooperative encourages its members primarily in tea production. It collects green tea leaves from tea producers, buys and sells them, and produces fertilizers required for tea cultivation.
With the objective of improving the standard of living of its members through quality financial and non-financial services, including marketing and tea processing, 25 members formally established the Greenhill Tea Producers Cooperative Limited at the Division Cooperative Office, Ilam, on 2060-06-07 (Nepali date).
