Ajambare

Inspired by the objective of promoting and integrating tea farming by providing advanced materials and fertilizers, and ensuring the proper use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers for quality tea production, Ajambare Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd., Deumai Municipality-8, Ilam was established in 2058. The cooperative envisions developing this region as an organic tea-growing area. With the cooperative now reaching 67 farmer members including 11 females, it upholds the principles and core values of cooperatives, primarily encouraging its members in tea production, collecting and purchasing green tea leaves from tea farmers, marketing fertilizers required for tea, processing tea, and providing quality financial and non-financial services to improve members' livelihoods.

The cooperative was officially registered on 2058/08/21 B.S. (2001 A.D.) at the Division Cooperative Office, Ilam, by 43 founding members. Since 2069 B.S. (2012 A.D.), the cooperative has also been producing vermicompost fertilizer to support organic tea farming.
