News : Training on Tea Processing Technology for Earthquake Victims Tea Cooperatives

Training on Tea Processing Technology has been conducted for 3 days (5 to 7 June 2017) at Everest Organic Tea Cooperative Ltd. Chandanpur, Lalitpur (South Lalitpur) under the "Relief, Reconstruction and Recovery of Earthquake Victim Tea Farmers project supported by Fondation De France for 19 tea maker and potential tea maker including 6 female of the Earthquake victims tea cooperative of Lalitpur and Ramechhap Disticts to process better quality made tea which can assure their market. The training was conducted in both theoretical and practical sharing session to create self and practical learning environment among participants.

The Training program was basically focus on basic method of processing of Orthodox (Black, Golden, White, Green  and Oolong tea ) hand made tea making ,  relation between quality tea with national and international market, quality maintenance and post manufacture handling process . The training was facilitated by Mr. Ram Chandra Nepal (Free line consultant) Jhapa, Nepal and Miss Menuka Pradhan technical facilitator (B.Sc. Tea Technology Management) of CTCF Nepal. The training program was was also fruitful to prepare hand made tea by utilizing their available materials at home and sell it in the market for uplifting their living standard. Tea tasting programme at the end of session creates idea among participants on the method of tasting tea as well as its importance. The training program was supportive to provide knowledge on preparing qualitative made tea.
